First Movie: The Hobbit

Bertrand attended his first ever movie at a theater courtesy of Hope Kids

It was Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit".

The showing was early in the morning before the theater opened and for HopeKids families only. The audience was full of sympathetic souls who would understand if Bertrand got over-stimulated or vocal.

Still, we were fully prepared to carry him out of the theater if necessary.

But we shouldn't have worried. Bertrand was amazing! He genuinely enjoy the movie. Moreover, he was well-behaved and attentive for the entire three-hour film!  We were shocked and oh so proud.

I see more movies in his future. :)

  1. That's fantastic! I'm glad you got to do that, and props to Bertrand for making it through a movie that long -- of course, it doesn't hurt that there's something happening every. single. second. It sounds like he did better than Daniel, whom we took after he begged and begged and who made it to the end, but was trying to climb into his dad's lap during a number of scenes.

    1. I'm impressed that Daniel made it through too! Honestly, my attention span was shot by the time they got to Golum. One more riddle and I would've had to leave the theater. It didn't drag as badly as the LOTR movies but, in my humble non-fan-girl opinion, it was still too long.

  3. I decided to look at your blog to see how you guys were all doing, and come to find out we were at the same hope kids movie! We only stayed for about 30 minutes because that is all my kiddos could handle. I don't even know if you remember me, but you won my photo contest and we did some pictures with you guys. It is such a small world! Anyway, it is good to see that you all seem to be doing well, and are able to get out.
