Abuelita Elisa

Abuelita Elisa, Abuelito, and Bertrand (2008)

Bertrand and Victoria's great-grandmother, Abuelita Elisa, passed away.

If anyone could be described in one word, Abuelita's would be "Optimism".  Despite a hard life, she was a perpetual ray of sunshine.

She inspired those around her with kind words and a generous nature.

Abuelita Elizabeth was my role model.  Even though our physical distance was great, she was never far from me in spirit.  I (try to) channel her positive attitude daily.

When I look at Victoria, I see Abuelita's empathy and cheerfulness.

When I look at Bertrand, I see Abuelita's undefeatable spirit.

We are beyond lucky to have had her in our lives.

She will always live in our hearts.

  1. I'm so sorry for your loss. Grandmothers are such a great gift - I'm glad you had such a wonderful relationship with her and, it sounds like, such great memories.

On a separate note, do you think Bernard looks like Belinda? From your wonderful picture above, it looks as if he favors her. All those dark curls, their noses and foreheads.

Wishing you peace and joy from your memories in the coming days.

    1. Thank you, Jen. We have many great memories indeed. :)

On a separate note: I can see the similarities, but lord save us if Bertrand is like his aunt Belinda. ;) She is the feistiest of all his aunts!
